In Pichl near Wels (Wels-Land district) seven fire brigades were deployed in a room fire in a residential building. At around 7:45 p.m., the first defenses moved out to the village of Hochwimm. The fire was quickly brought under control. According to initial information, no one was injured. What started the fire has yet to be determined.
At around 1:15 a.m Bad Ischl the main fire station and the Reiterndorf fire brigade were called to a chimney fire in a restaurant on Grazerstrasse. After the chimney burned out in a controlled manner, the associated burning stove was cleared out in order to lower the temperature in the chimney system. Rapid intervention prevented major damage.

New Year’s Eve was also busy for the fire brigade in catfish: In the Lichtenegg district, a garbage island was on fire in the evening. A garbage can burned in Wels-Vogelweide. In the Noitzmühle settlement area, the emergency services were alerted to a balcony fire shortly before midnight. Several garbage containers were set on fire, and the police were deployed in large numbers. Firefighters also had to put out a burning hedge and burning fireworks batteries.
