“Our chairman and friend, Mag. Dr. Walter Holzinger, left us much too early yesterday after a short, serious illness. Our condolences go to his family and our thanks go to all relatives,” says a broadcast by the Innviertel Artists’ Guild (IKG ). The Rieder artist has been in charge of the IKG since 2010, when he took over the position from Meinrad Mayrhofer, who died in June last year.
In the past twelve years, Holzinger has “led the guild through the last decade in his level-headed, modest manner and has rendered outstanding services through his great commitment to voluntary work, which also requires a great deal of responsibility.” Zirkel, and that’s how he carried our community through difficult times and the corona pandemic,” emphasizes the board of directors of the artists’ guild in the broadcast. Holzinger had always strived for dialogue and consensus, which also distinguished him.
Only a few months ago, the Innviertler artists’ guild – which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year – had to mourn the death of its former chairman, Meinrad Mayrhofer, and now the artists’ association is mourning the loss of its current director.
