With “Blian und vablian” he returns to the linguistic roots of his Obermühlviertel homeland, with dialect poems specifically in the diction and coloring of the region of his childhood, to which he – living in Vienna – was drawn and drawn again and again. In dialect, too, he formulates his grim, melancholic, pessimistic world view, as in many previous books, mixed with sketches of everyday life, reminiscences, testimonies of personal joys and defeats, his fight against a serious illness and the successful measures of self-assertion. One reads this keystone of a long life as a writer with inner movement and sympathy. The book was published by Correction Verlag in Vienna on behalf of the PEN Club.
On Tuesday, January 24, from 7.30 p.m., he will read from his book “Einschnitte. Poems 2021-2022” in the Stifterhaus in Linz, together with the Linz-based novelist Mario Keszner (novel “Calathea”).
