The repair bonus was redeemed 353,196 times last year. Smartphones and mobile phones were repaired most frequently with around 150,000 repairs, writes the Ministry of Climate and Energy in a press release. Each repair voucher covers 50 percent of the repair costs for electrical devices and is worth up to 200 euros. Dishwashers (about 31,000), washing machines (30,000), coffee machines (28,300) and laptops (15,700) were also very often repaired.
According to the ministry, 3,153 companies are already taking part in the program. Of these, 20 percent are from Lower Austria, followed by Upper Austria (19 percent), Styria (16 percent) and Vienna (13 percent). Around 130 million euros from the EU recovery and resilience fund are available for the repair bonus until 2026.
