Rudi Lumetsberger, who was born in St. Georgen, went among the book authors. The entrepreneur, who achieved success with worldwide incentive and event programs, wrote the 352-page book “60 trips around the world. Experiences that change your life”.
Lumetsberger was already on the road as a tour guide while he was studying economics. He spent several months in the Peloponnese, later traveled to North and South America, Africa, Asia and a number of destinations in Europe. He recognized the potential of group travel for companies and founded the company Erlebnismarketing with Rainer Reichl as a partner based in Vienna. Since then, Lumetsberger has traveled to 88 countries and 104 cities on five continents.
Because he celebrated his 60s in June, the Mühlviertler collected 60 travel recommendations for his book project. “I have chosen goals that contain personal adventures, experiences and encounters. They stand for the longings and dreams that one would like to realize one day in life.” Among other things, a trip on the Trans-Siberian Railway, crossing the Namib, expeditions in the Himalayas, rafting adventures on the wild Zambezi or a ride in a Formula 1 car in Portugal are described.
Lumetsberger developed a special devotion to Africa, where he also donates the proceeds from book sales – specifically to an eco-social project in Uganda, which he supports in cooperation with the Jane Goodall Institute. “I had the pleasure of meeting Jane in person, hiking with her through the jungle and visiting her chimpanzees. Later we organized lectures with her in Austria, built classrooms in Tanzania and initiated reforestation programs.”
“60 trips around the world” is available from the Raiffeisenbank Mühlviertler Alm, St. Georgen am Walde bank and the Königswiesen bank for 40 euros.
