People agree that Landstrasse offers a good selection of different shops. Graphic designer Melanie Pichler, for example, likes to spend her lunch break here: “I work nearby and like to visit a few shops. There’s also a lot on offer in terms of cuisine. It fits!” Wilfried Haundschmid was on vacation in Jerusalem two days ago. It was very different there, he says. Now the man from Freistadt is enjoying the more relaxed atmosphere in Linz: “The Landstrasse is particularly attractive because of the opportunities for shopping and the relaxed atmosphere of the people.”
The student Helene Bauer comes from Gallneukirchen to go shopping in Linz. She likes the ambience of the country road, “especially at night with the lights”. Marian Vukovic comes from Stuttgart and is doing an internship in Linzer Landstrasse. He thinks the offer is good, but: “It’s a concrete desert.” The 74-year-old Christine Kranzler finds the shopping street almost unbearable in summer: “Something needs to be done urgently – green facades, real trees, more benches.” A passer-by stopped for a moment and shared the same opinion: “I think you could take Graz as an example. There are green areas with benches to rest in between.”
