This is reported by “Profit” online on Thursday. The properties were sold for almost EUR 42 million. The furniture sale is currently continuing, Kika / Leiner remain tenants of the houses, according to the report. Hallmann had previously taken over Kika/Leiner locations.
The fact that Signa wants to sell individual Kika/Leiner locations around the Tyrolean real estate investor Rene Benko had already made the rounds in November. At that time there was talk of four to 15 locations that are offered on the market in Austria. The managing director of the furniture store chains, Reinhold Güterbier, emphasized at the time that all 42 furniture stores would remain.
Hallmann is said to have struck several times at Kika/Leiner locations. According to “Gewinn”, Hallmann-Holding and its subsidiary Süba have also been the owners of the former Leiner headquarters on St. Pölten’s Rathausplatz since November. According to the magazine, the company has long owned the former Leiner in the center of Wiener Neustadt and the closed Kika branch in Vösendorf on the outskirts of Vienna.
At Signa, no one was initially available for comment.
