Twelve fire brigades were deployed during the night to extinguish the fire. The fire is believed to have started on the first floor of the house. When the three fire brigades from the municipality of Reichenthal arrived at the scene, the living area of the building was already fully engulfed in flames. The operations management triggered alarm level two to reinforce nine other fire brigades.
In the morning, the police confirmed that a body had been found. Since the homeowner could not be found, the police suspect that the body is the 66-year-old resident. However, the body has not yet been identified.

Due to the construction of the object, fighting the fire was difficult, there were many concealed embers, as reported by the responsible fire brigade foundation near Reichenthal. After almost three hours, “fire out” could be reported. The cause of the fire has not yet been clarified.
