Since the beginning of November, the Gallspacher fools have been working with their president Klaus Aigner on the program for the two carnival sessions on January 28th and February 3rd. Corona only briefly slowed down the oldest fun society in the Grieskirchen district (founded in 1969). “Almost everyone is still on board, we are about 55 people in front of and behind the stage,” says Aigner in an interview with OÖNachrichten. However, as in other clubs, the members of the carnival guild are getting older and the youngsters are not necessarily in the front row.
An entertaining program with sketches, singing and dancing numbers with the youth guard and the guard girls as well as the music duo “Tip Top” is being prepared in “Narrgallibach”. Patience is required, because visitors can expect a program of around four hours, and the Kursaal rarely closes before midnight. A fixed point is the performance of “Gemein(d)e Siegi”, who Christian Steiner has embodied for many years.

The mayor of Scharten and advertising specialist also performs a musical number together with his son. There will also be a comeback by the humorous magician Houdini, Hans Schiendorfer. In addition to defining topics such as Corona, the Gallspacher fools are of course also dedicating themselves to international, Austrian and local politics. There is enough material: “We rub our hands just like the cabaret artists,” says Aigner.
Incidentally, the Gallspachers have not had a royal couple since the beginning, and that will not change either. “We always got through the carnival so well, and we also hear from other guilds that it is becoming increasingly difficult to find royal couples who have certain obligations,” said the President. Advance sales for the carnival session in the Kursaal have already got off to a good start (place tickets for 18 euros are available at the municipal office and in the Gallspach guest information center).
Carnival parade with 35 floats
The people of Gallspacher are also working on organizing their carnival procession, which guilds and clubs from the region are expected to attend on Carnival Sunday, February 19, with 35 floats. Start is at 2 p.m.
