David Alaba is currently on a break due to an injury. Austria’s soccer star injured his right calf in Real Madrid’s defeat by Villarreal last weekend, the Madrilenians announced on Monday after a closer examination. Real did not provide any information about the exact duration of the outage. The Spanish press suspected an injury break of around three weeks.
In any case, Alaba will not travel to Saudi Arabia, where Real is fighting for the Spanish Supercup. The semi-final first leg takes place on Wednesday in Riyadh against Valencia, the final is scheduled for Sunday. In the second semi-final, Barcelona and Betis Sevilla face off. After that, Real will play again in Villarreal (January 18) in the last sixteen of the Spanish Cup.
