Following the attempted coup by thousands of Bolsonaro protesters, who invaded the buildings of the three powers in the federal district of Brasilia, Lula posted a message on his official account Twitter.
“Joint demonstration of the Presidents of the Powers of the Republic, signed this morning, in repudiation of yesterday’s coup acts in Brasilia”wrote the president of Brazil.
The note states that “The defenders of democracy and the Constitutional Charter of 1988 reject the terrorist, vandalism, criminal and coup acts that occurred yesterday afternoon in Brasilia”.
Then say: “We are united so that institutional claims are taken under the terms of Brazilian laws”add.
Then, he calls on the Brazilian population to remain calm amid the climate of social tension. “We ask society to maintain serenity, in defense of the democracy of our country”manifests the note that bears the signature of the holders of the three powers of the State.
“The country needs normality, respect and work for the progress and social justice of the nation”concludes the communiqué that bears the signatures of Lula da Silva (President of Brazil); Veneziano Vital do Rego (President of the Senate); Arthur Lira (president Chamber of Deputies); and Rosa Maria Pires Weber (president of the Federal Supreme Court).
