Unfortunately, this is not good news for the winter resorts in Upper Austria and for friends of skiing. Also in the coming days there will be little or no fresh snow in our federal state. It snowed a bit in the southern parts of the country in the past 24 hours, but more than five to ten centimeters of snow (on the Dachstein glacier) were not recorded anywhere.
In the coming hours there will still be one or the other precipitation, but it will primarily fall as rain. And that’s how it will continue in the coming days, says Christian Resch from the Central Institute for Meteorology and Geodynamics (ZAMG). The snow line will rise again and will level off between 900 and 1000 meters in the coming days.
From Thursday the southwest wind will come along. Not strong, but it could be between 20 and 30 km/h in the Mühlviertel.
