Haudum locks up, rebuilds and reveals Grandma’s Bundt cake recipe

Haudum locks up, rebuilds and reveals Grandma’s Bundt cake recipe

All those regular guests who have already felt a queasy feeling in their stomachs when they read the word conversion can be reassured. The restaurant has the usual cozy atmosphere. The bar area in particular will be renewed. The courtyard is also being renovated and expanded.

Bundt cake secret revealed

The two innkeepers don’t want to leave their guests without a hitch. As an apology, they reveal a well-kept secret: Haudum grandma’s Bundt cake recipe. This treasure has been there for seven decades and has always been well looked after at Gasthof Haudum. In the anniversary year of the traditional inn, it will be aired. Every regular guest has probably already enjoyed grandma’s Gugelhupf from Haudum. The recipe for it has always been a real original – just like the inn itself. Hundreds of guests asked Peter and Lukas Haudum for the recipe. They never revealed it. Those times are over now. “We are now remodeling and will be closing our inn from January 13th to February 15th. So that our guests still think of us during this time, we now want to pass on this piece of family history,” explains landlord Lukas Haudum.
If you don’t have time to bake, you can order your Gugelhupf in the “Paula” (white wine Gugelhupf) or “Anton” (red wine Gugelhupf) variants from the tavern (07216 6248) and pick it up.

Fire brigade ball takes place

But even in the month of lockdown, you can’t do without hooliganism: from Monday to Friday there is one dish for pick-up every day, which has to be ordered the day before. The bacon workshop is also open, and the house bread is freshly baked every Wednesday and Friday. After landlord Lukas Haudum is also the commander of the local fire brigade, the fire brigade ball on January 21 cannot be cancelled. As the name ProBierBall already suggests, everything will revolve around beer.
