Contaminated drinking water in Leonding
According to information from the state of Upper Austria, a well in the Wagram area is affected, and further samples are taken continuously, information is given on the municipality’s website. As in Leonding, the recommendation in Pasching not to drink the water contaminated with PFAS and not to use it for the preparation of food and drinks also applies.
A total of ten households are affected in the said area, the residents have the opportunity to pick up drinking water from the Pasching elementary school, Mayor Markus Hofko (VP) said today on OÖN request.
Peter Öfferlbauer from the Junge Liste sees the need for the municipality to establish a free check option for Pasching well owners. The measure should be financed with the funds already decided for well checks.
As reported, the state of Upper Austria announced that the new results and findings would be presented at the end of the week.
