Slovakia’s Petra Vlhova set the best time in the first run of the night slalom in Flachau. The Olympic champion leads before the decision on Tuesday evening with a time of 55.90 seconds by 17 hundredths ahead of USski– Dominator Mikaela Shiffrin. The Croatian Zrinka Ljutic drove with start number 17 in third place (+0.58 seconds). Katharina Liensberger is the best ÖSV athlete at the home World Cup with a big gap in eighth place (+1.85).
Flachau. Katharina Truppe (+1.94) placed just behind after 30 runners, and as eleventh she still has a chance of a top ten place. Franziska Gritsch (+2.48) and Katharina Huber (+2.50) are in the top 15. Vlhova drove to the front with start number six on the difficult course set by her trainer Mauro Pini. With a victory at the 30th anniversary on today’s Hermann Maier World Cup route, Shiffrin could become the sole record holder with 83 World Cup successes.
