In 1981, Ernst Pühringer started his own business with a carpentry workshop in Reichenthal. Later, a showroom and an exhibition house were added in Freistadt. The family business is currently managed by the second generation, Harald and Klaus Pühringer. But the third generation is already in the starting blocks: In autumn, Raphael Pühringer began an apprenticeship as a furniture and construction carpenter. “I am very proud that my grandson is showing such great interest in our company,” says company founder Ernst Pühringer.
Harald Pühringer is also proud that his son has joined the company. For the time being, however, Raphael should get to know the trade and the company without much pressure: “If he decides against taking on a job after his apprenticeship or later, that’s okay too. He doesn’t have to take over the company. He can if he wants to.”
“I was fascinated very early on by what my dad does for a living,” says the 16-year-old. What does he particularly like about his job? “That at the end of the day I see what I’ve created.”
