“We have to get people back on board,” says Peter Michael Breitenauer. The SP mayor of Kirchberg-Thening sees this opportunity in the “Agenda Zukunft”, which will be launched today with an information evening in the municipal office.
The core of the network, to which more than 150 municipalities already belong, envisages strong public participation. “We want to know which issues the population sees as the decisive factors in order to secure, shape and improve the quality of life in Kirchberg-Thening for future generations,” says Breitenauer.
Whether questions of spatial planning (keyword sealing), local supply, transport, mobility – goals should be defined in exchange with the citizens. “We’ll see what the issues are,” said the local chief, who of course knows about the problems in his community that the local area is cut up.
Seen in this way, the desire to expand a town center is less a question of money and more of feasibility. But maybe there are ideas from the population.
The process of the “Agenda Zukunft” will really start in March, when a “Citizens’ Council” will be chosen at random. At the end, a future profile for Kirchberg-Thening should be drawn up, which will be implemented step by step.
