Monetary Fund does not expect a recession in 2023

According to IMF director Kristalina Georgieva, the fund’s next economic forecasts are not expected to change significantly from last October’s forecast. The IMF economists assumed global growth of 2.7 percent for 2023. According to the IMF, China could prove to be a driver of the global economy. The move away from the zero-Covid strategy is likely to result in China becoming a driving force of the global economy again, Georgieva said.
