A 35-year-old car driver from the Vöcklabruck district was driving with his sons (11 and 13 years old) on Vöcklabrucker Straße in the direction of Regau at around 4:30 p.m. when he got into the oncoming lane for an unknown reason. There he collided head-on with the car of a 45-year-old from the Gmunden district, who was traveling with his son (9) and daughter (12).
Those involved were injured to an undetermined degree and had to be taken to the hospitals in Gmunden and Vöcklabruck. The ÖBB railway line between Pinsdorf and Aurachkirchen was closed.
