On January 21st at the Jägerball in Linz it’s “Waidmannsheil” again

Last year, the organizers had to kneel before the pandemic, but this year everything is ready for the Upper Austrian Jägerball.

On January 21, the hunting horn blowing groups Bad Wimsbach/Neydharting and Schaunburg will welcome visitors in dirndls, lederhosen and traditional costumes in the Palais Kaufmännischer Verein. The elegant traditional ball, organized by the Hubertusclub Linz under veteran Wolfram Berger and the Jagdclub Diana under veteran Peter Robatscher, is returning to the big stage a year late. Normally every two years there is “hunting time” in the ball season.

The tried and tested does not necessarily need any serious changes. This is also the opinion of the organizational team, who want to offer an atmospheric ball evening with hunting flair “in the usual manner”, as they say. In other words: Anyone who has ever experienced the Jägerball knows what to expect there. An evening that is dedicated to hunting, but is by no means just an evening for hunters. The ball is a social experience.

In any case, the flair is hunter’s, fir trees and hunting trophies will decorate the palace, in various “retreats”, as you could call the bars, you can not only relax from dancing and have conversations, but also discover your talent with the air rifle at the shooting range . Prizes are again waiting for the best, which will be awarded after the midnight interlude with the XX-Schuhplattler from Ried/Riedmark and the Scherhaufen-Musi.

The ball will open at 8.30 p.m. (admission from 7.30 p.m.) with a choreography by the Horn dance school. Afterwards, those who love to dance can let off steam to the music of the ptart dance orchestra in the festival hall or to the internationally renowned band “Die Trenkwalder” in the park hall. Ball ends at 4 a.m.

  • cards for the hunter’s ball are available via Ö-Ticket and in the OÖ Heimatwerk on Landstraße, remaining tickets are also available at the box office.
