Alkolenker nearly hit a police car and sped away in a BMW

Around 9:40 p.m., police officers in Hofkirchen im Traunkreis noticed a car that was coming towards them in a wavy line. At the level of the elementary school, the driver with the black BMW got into the oncoming lane and almost rammed the patrol car.

The police followed the car on Tillysburgstrasse in the direction of Asten and tried to stop the driver. This – a 47-year-old Bosnian from the district of Linz-Land – stepped on the gas and sped away at far too high a speed.

In the village of Winkling (municipality of Hofkirchen), the 47-year-old lost control of his car. The car went off the road, hit a fence and traffic signs and stopped badly damaged.

The police officers provided first aid to the injured driver and passenger, called the rescue service and called for additional emergency services. The injured were taken to a hospital.

Alkolenker almost rammed a police car

An alcohol test on the handlebars showed a value of 1.66 per mille. The man has to reckon with several ads.
