After a forced two-year break, the social highlight of the ball season could once again take place. And how! The 74th edition of the fire brigade ball was sold out with 2000 guests eager to dance. And they were able to celebrate an anniversary with their comeback: the ball took place on Saturday in the town hall for the tenth time.
The organizer duo was feverish – Markus Schaumbergercommander of the technical platoon, and Andrew Auer, commander of fire engine 3, supported by 120 helpers, responsible for the fire brigade ball since 2014 – not so much for this anniversary as for the midnight interlude. For the first time they engaged the duo Aquarius for a spectacular midnight show. And the Viennese couple Marlies and Walter Holecek then more than lived up to all expectations with his daring rope cloth acrobatics at a height of up to eight meters.

“Steyr has never seen a midnight interlude like this,” enthused Schaumberger the next day, “it was like Cirque du Soleil.”
The Post Big Band Salzburg, which contributed the dance music for the first time in Steyr, was no less top-class.

The ball-goers didn’t miss it, nor did they miss the popular disco in the basement or the many bars: from the Seidlbar to the cocktail and Knöbl lounge to the Weinstadl.
