Escaped tiger on the way near Johannesburg

Escaped tiger on the way near Johannesburg

The animal, which does not live in the wild in South Africa, escaped from a private property through a severed fence on Saturday evening, killing a pet reindeer and two dogs. The man was able to call for help and the tiger was driven away.

The man was suddenly attacked by the big cat on Sunday on his way home in the small town of Walkerville, a police spokesman told the eNCA television station. The animal protection organization NSPCA warned on Sunday that the animal is still roaming free and is dangerous. The owners of the female tiger also kept a male on their farm – but this has now been moved to another location. The search for the escaped female continued in the evening.
