The man and a 34-year-old colleague, also from Germany, were about to rappel when they fell from the penultimate belay to the foot of the wall for reasons unknown. The 38-year-old suffered fatal injuries, the 34-year-old was seriously injured. A helicopter rescue was not possible because of the bad weather, the police reported. Therefore, the mountain rescue carried out a ground rescue. The 34-year-old was taken to Zams Hospital.
