According to police, two men broke into a family home around 2:30 a.m. and searched it. The woman only woke up when the men entered the bedroom. One of the two held the 83-year-old while the other searched the room.
The burglars stole a small amount of cash, jewelry and a cell phone. When the woman was sure that the perpetrators were out of the house, she called the police. The 83-year-old was taken to hospital with injuries but was only treated on an outpatient basis.
After the woman dialed 911, the police launched a manhunt for the perpetrators, which ended in vain. The victim described the two as between 30 and 40 years old, around 1.65 meters tall, wearing a black down jacket with a hood. One of the two is said to have been corpulent.
