A Czech coach with 23 Taiwanese passengers caught fire Monday afternoon on the west autobahn (A1) near Eberstalzell (Wels-Land district). According to the police, the cause may have been a cable fire in the luggage compartment. A passenger noticed smoke on the bus and sounded the alarm. The chauffeur immediately parked on the hard shoulder, evacuated the occupants and put out the fire with a powder fire extinguisher. No one was injured, police said.
