The UVC Ried volleyball players lived up to their role as favorites last weekend in the home game against the Wörtherseelöwen Klagenfurt. In the Raiffeisen Volleydome, Rieder celebrated a sovereign and unchallenged 3-0 win against the bottom team in the Bundesliga, who had not won yet.
The first two rounds went to the Innviertler with 25:18 each, the third set was even clearer (25:16). “We’re happy about the home win. We played really well and almost the entire squad played,” said coach Dominik Kefer after the win.
After 13 games (seven wins, six defeats), Rieder are fifth in the table with 23 points. The declared goal of the season in the regular round, fourth place, is within reach: fourth place Aich/Dob currently has 24 points, third place Amstetten has 25 points on the account.
Rieder will be visiting Sokol Vienna next Saturday, followed by the next away game against Waldviertel on January 28th.
