The previously unknown perpetrator stormed into the tobacconist in Linz’s Neubauzeile at around 5:50 p.m. The man had his face hidden under a black balaclava and was holding a black handgun. At that time, a 66-year-old tobacconist was alone in the kiosk.
The perpetrator threatened the woman with a gun and demanded cash. The saleswoman therefore opened the cash drawer and threw some of the banknotes inside onto the sales desk. The perpetrator grabbed the money and fled in an unknown direction. Initiated search measures were unsuccessful until Tuesday morning. The amount of the loot is not disclosed for police reasons.
