The 37-year-old from Burgkirchen drove his car in Aspach at around 8 p.m. on the Au-Roith goods route in the direction of Waghamer Landesstraße. At the same time, a 16-year-old from Höhnhart, also in the Braunau district, was driving his moped on the state road from Fraham in the direction of Höhnhart. When turning onto the state road, the driver overlooked the approaching moped, and the vehicles collided.
The boy fell as a result, the moped landed in the ditch. The 16-year-old suffered minor injuries and was taken to Ried hospital by ambulance after first aid. The moped was totaled and the car was slightly damaged.
Twice gone and back again
The 37-year-old left the scene of the accident twice before the police arrived. He parked his car a little way from the scene of the accident. Probably only he knows why. When the patrol arrived, the driver of the car had returned to the scene of the accident on foot. A breathalyser test showed him a blood alcohol level of 1.32. The man’s driver’s license was provisionally taken on the spot and he will be reported.
