For the 14th time, on Wednesday, January 18th and Thursday, January 19th, the joint blood donation campaign of the Red Cross, SV Guntamatic Ried and the Oberösterreichische Nachrichten will take place in the VIP rooms of the Bundesliga soccer club SV Ried. Blood can be donated on January 18th and 19th, 2023, from 2.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m., in the Oberbank Business Club of SV Ried (Volksfestplatz 2, 4910 Ried).
At the 13th edition, more than 240 blood donors came over two days and made the campaign one of the largest in Upper Austria. Blood stocks in Austria were scarce last summer.

“The situation was quite serious, but thanks to our donors, care in the Upper Austrian hospitals was guaranteed at all times,” says Werner Watzinger, commercial director of the blood center in Linz. A blood unit has a shelf life of 42 days. The districts of Rohrbach, Schärding and Ried im Innkreis are in the first three places of the most diligent blood donors in our federal state.
