Corona: Forecast assumes further decline in normal wards

In its Wednesday update, the forecast consortium assumes a further decrease in the number of infected people on normal wards – from 777 on Wednesday to 659 in two weeks (fluctuation range 515 to 843 occupied beds). The intensive care cover should remain approximately the same (Tuesday: 52 infected). According to wastewater monitoring and official test figures, new infections are also declining.

In Austria, 2,377 laboratory-confirmed new infections with the corona virus were registered on Tuesday. According to AGES, an average of 1,885 infections were detected every day in the past week. As of this morning, there were 835 infected people in the hospital, which means a minus of 25 compared to the previous day. Of these, 58 are in intensive care, which is six more than yesterday.

13 corona deaths were reported on Tuesday. However, there are always delays in the reports. In the past week, 53 people have died after a corona infection. The pandemic has so far claimed 21,589 lives in Austria. There are currently 23,610 laboratory-confirmed active cases, 1,098 more than the day before. The seven-day incidence in Austria is currently 146.2 infections per 100,000 inhabitants, compared to 153.5 the day before.
