Road users will see a new emergency vehicle on the streets of Perger in the coming weeks. The Red Cross emergency doctor team in Perg is starting the new year with a new emergency vehicle. After six years of service, almost 250,000 kilometers on the clock, it was time to retire the previous NEF car. After all, for the average 1,200 emergency trips per year, the entire emergency doctor team relies on a reliable and well-equipped “tool”.
Apart from one or the other technical feature and a slightly different decal, the vehicle type has basically remained the same. “On the one hand, the emergency services can fall back on a proven system, on the other hand, a lot of costs can be saved when purchasing it. For example, by installing the box body with the medical equipment in the new vehicle,” explains Andreas Neulinger, the paramedic on duty.
In addition to a more powerful engine, the new emergency doctor’s vehicle (NEF) offers above all safer equipment. For example, the new blue light bar is equipped with an infrared system. This allows emergency helicopters to locate the vehicle more quickly. In addition, the intensity of the blue light can be adjusted to the current lighting conditions via a dimmer function. This ensures that the NEF is perceived as best as possible when it is deployed without dazzling other road users. The team of emergency physicians and paramedics prepared well for the new emergency vehicle before it was delivered. In working groups, parts of the equipment were revised, adapted and jointly optimized in order to be well prepared for emergencies.
