On Tuesday there will be frequent rain and snowfall on the south side of the Alps and in the south-east, with the snow line usually fluctuating between around 400 and 800 meters above sea level. In the rest of Austria, low layers of cloud persist, from which it can occasionally drizzle or above about 500 to 700 meters above sea level there can also be light snow drizzle. Larger sunny windows are only announced for Vorarlberg and North Tyrol. The wind will be weak to moderate, occasionally brisk from a northerly direction on the eastern edge of the Alps. On Thursday, the sun will appear in the west and south in addition to dense clouds at times. Otherwise it will remain cloudy all day and in the late afternoon and evening light snowfall will begin in the north and east. The wind usually blows only weakly. The early temperatures are minus eight to zero degrees, the maximum daily temperatures are minus one to plus four degrees.
Clouds will predominate on Friday and intermittent snowfall is also expected in large parts of the country, mostly along the north side of the Alps and in the east. The wind blows weak to moderate, on the mountains and in the east also briskly from northwest to north.
