In the 17th round, the Viennese won 95:82 (45:35) against the newly crowned cup winner and first pursuer Gmunden. The guests laid the foundation for this with the 25:12 and 27:18 respectively in the second and third part of the game, Gmunden’s race to catch up in the finish came too late. The second-placed Upper Austrians are already six points behind the leader.
In the other two Sunday games, UBSC Graz came within two points of the sixth-placed Lower Austrians with a 95:69 (55:38) home win over Klosterneuburg. And Fürstenfeld celebrated a 102:51 (55:22) victory in the straggler duel with the Nord Dragonz from Eisenstadt.
