For the 20th anniversary season of “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” Dieter Bohlen returned to the casting show – now he gives the format a sexism scandal. After his break in season 19, the 68-year-old is back on the jury. The show should be more family-friendly, Bohlen should take back his provocative sayings. But it didn’t take long for the “pop titan” to fall back into old patterns: in the upcoming show (note: the episode will be broadcast tomorrow, Wednesday), he’s scolding participant Jill Lange.
When the “Are You The One” star wanted to try her luck with DSDS, Bohlen is said to have paid particular attention to her sex life and reality TV career instead of her singing talent. Dieter is said to have said to her: “Did you do anything normal? Or did you just graduate and let yourself be noodled through?”
This statement is already being hotly debated online – Lange also spoke up in tears on Monday: “Dieter insulted me.” And she claims: Not all of Bohlen’s comments are shown. An accusation that RTL did not stand: When asked by the German “Bild”, the broadcaster made the following statement: “In the context of the discussion about Jill’s dating show experiences, we saw no reason to cut the dialogue from the show.” And further : “Jill could have left the competition at any point if she felt she had been treated unfairly, but she didn’t.”
Bohlen reacts on Instagram
And the pop titan also reacted via Instagram: In his Instagram story, Bohlen reposted the opinion of user Pasquale, who wrote: “If you take part in such bang formats and therefore consider yourself famous ?! And then goes to DSDS and Dieter Bohlen has to deal with honest questions and answers. I find it so remarkable that Dieter remains true to himself. And I don’t buy Jill Lange’s whining either. She showed on TV how unscrupulous she is.” Words that Bohlen seems to agree with.
