In the presence of Federal President Alexander van der Bellen and State Secretary Andrea Mayer, the OKH was awarded the Art Prize for Cultural Initiatives 2021 in the Vienna Hofburg. This prize is awarded to established artists and cultural institutions for their oeuvre and is the highest honorary prize that the republic awards in the field of culture. It is endowed with 15,000 euros. “We are very happy about this great appreciation of our predominantly voluntary cultural work in the OKH. The fact that it is so close to our 10th anniversary makes the art prize something special. We remain motivated and have set ourselves a number of goals for the year: In addition to the ongoing program, we want to make our house even more climate-friendly,” says the OKH spokesman team Jolanda de Wit and Richard Schachinger.
For Karin Eidenberger, City Councilor for Culture, who traveled with him, the art prize is “a great pleasure and a great award for the city of Vöcklabruck and the committed OKH team with all its volunteers.” In the course of the award, a publication about all the prizewinners was created: Who If you are interested, you can access the essay about the OKH written for this purpose by the author Magdalena Stammler at any time via https://okh.or.at/newsfestrede.
