After the disappointments at the European Championships almost two weeks ago with three fourth places, Jonas Müller in the singles and Selina Egle/Lara Kipp in the doubles each took silver, as did Yannick Müller/Armin Frauscher bronze in the sprint competitions. Only in the women’s singles did the ÖRV team get nothing: Madeleine Egle was fifth directly ahead of Lisa Schulte.

Egle/Kipp were only beaten by the Germans Jessica Degenhardt/Cheyenne Rosenthal, just 0.016 seconds short of gold. In the singles, Müller, the 2019 sprint world champion, missed the gold medal by German Felix Loch by 0.073 seconds. Defending champion David Gleirscher finished fourth, his brother Nico sixth.

In the men’s doubles, Yannick Müller and Armin Frauscher also made it onto the podium with third place. In the end, the ÖSV men were 0.069 seconds behind the Germans Toni Eggert/Sascha Benecken. In between, their compatriots Tobias Wendl/Tobia Arlt pushed themselves (+ 0.036 sec.).

On Saturday (from 8:25 a.m.) the men’s and women’s doubles and women’s singles (11:45 a.m./1:15 p.m.) in the Olympic disciplines are on the program, on Sunday (from 10:00 a.m.) the men’s singles and the team relay (1:40 p.m ).
