Neither side reported injuries, and most of the rockets fired from Gaza were intercepted by Israel’s air defense system.
The rocket fire was not claimed, although both Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip, and Islamic Jihad promised reprisals for yesterday’s raid on the Jenin refugee camp, in the northern West Bank, which left nine dead. Another Palestinian was killed by Israeli fire in a separate incident near Ramallah in the West Bank.
Among the dead was also found an “old woman” and about twenty people were injured, four seriously, during the military operation in the Jenin refugee camp, reported the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
Islamic Jihad, for its part, threatened the Israeli government: “The enemy (Israel) must be alert, because the Palestinian blood spilled is expensive”.
Nine killed in Israeli raid on West Bank

USA regretted that decision by the government of Mahmoud Abbas: “We do not believe that it is the right decision at this time,” said a spokesman in Washington.
