A family of four from Germany was traveling in the direction of Salzburg when the 45-year-old father lost control of the car in a left-hand bend in the municipality of Neukirchen an der Enknach (Braunau district). The car left the roadway to the right, hit a roadside marker and several trees before coming to a stop in a wooded area.
The mother and the two sons, aged eight and ten, were injured so badly that they had to be taken to the Braunau hospital after emergency medical treatment. The father survived the accident unharmed, the police said on Friday evening.
