“It’s a tough time for all of us right now (…). The last few months have been difficult for us too, and unfortunately it currently looks as if we’ll have to close in February”: This posting went at the beginning of January, as reported , on the Unpackbar store’s Facebook page online. It also provoked many reactions among OÖN readers, and there was great regret that the largely packaging-free shop on Harrachstrasse could be closed.
No closure in February
Yesterday, the two operators Christina Liu and Tina Prückl, who applied for the OÖN Feronia sustainability award, were able to give the all-clear. “We are heartbroken by the breathtaking reaction to our announcement of a possible closure! We only made it through January thanks to you,” they thanked the visitors with a new post.
A closure in February is off the table, but the sword of Damocles has not yet been completely averted. The decisive factor in the near future will be how high the monthly visitor numbers are.
