“wind shanty” is the name of the song that can be heard on Kaineder’s TikTok channel from 11 a.m. The song revolves around the lull in the expansion of wind power in Upper Austria. For his wind anthem, Kaineder chose the song form of the “shanty”, a traditional type of song used by sailors. He wrote the text in the style of a folk song: “Kemmts Leidln, samma clever, it’s about Hoamatlaund”. The melody should be familiar to many: Kaineder has his “wind anthem” to the New Zealand folk song “Wellerman” ajar. The song is polyphonic, all voices are sung by Kaineder himself. The song was recorded in the Audiogarten recording studio in Wallern.
With the “wind shanty” The Greens of Upper Austria want to give their campaign “100 wind turbines for Upper Austria”, which started at the end of 2022, additional momentum.
