A 26-year-old Romanian from Edt near Lambach reported an attempted robbery in Stadl-Paura shortly before 6 a.m. on Sunday. An unknown man, who had a knife on his belt, asked him to hand over cash and gold jewelry. Under the pretext of getting money from his car parked nearby, the victim distanced himself from the perpetrator. The Romanian was able to escape and called the police. Despite an immediate search, the perpetrator was gone.
During his interrogation in the evening, the Romanian stated that he saw the unknown perpetrator again on the way to the police station in the Lambach area. And this time the search was successful. At around 8:45 p.m., the handcuffs clicked. During a comparison, the suspect, a 31-year-old Syrian who lives in Lambach, was identified. He is shown.
