“Laughter is the best medicine” is the motto for the Ebensee Fasching association, which has been publishing the beloved and feared carnival newspaper for decades. So the newspaper guys registered all the whoops of their fellow citizens and wrote them down in verse. For example, there is the Ebenseer who, after an intensive visit to the beer tent in St. Agatha near Bad Goisern, overslept on the train ride home to Ebensee station and only woke up in Wankham, i.e. shortly before Attnang-Puchheim. On the way back, the second attempt to return home also failed, because the traveler now woke up in Hallstatt. The home port of Ebensee was only reached on the third attempt. Or that contemporary who forgot to close the car window when cleaning the car with the high-pressure cleaner, or the stormy lady who lost her wallet and rediscovered the wallet weeks later intact, but frozen in the freezer.
The first copy of the carnival newspaper traditionally went to the municipal authorities. Colporteurs provided the population with amusing reading material at the weekend. The Ebensee carnival newspaper is now also available in the local tobacconists, in the Spar supermarket and in the mini market.
