The handover of the medical management of the emergency doctor service from Wilhelm Winkler to Kostja Steiner was also used in Rohrbach to look back on the past 30 years. To date, the Rohrbach emergency doctor team has been alerted 29,000 times, so this year the 30,000 mark will be reached. Internal emergencies continue to be the most common reason for alarms. “From premature babies to the elderly, from polytrauma to heart attacks. We have a very wide range of applications,” said emergency paramedic Reinhold Stelzer, who took stock at the handover. Under the leadership of Wilhelm Winkler, 145 births, 1,600 traffic accidents, 600 work accidents, 2,700 leisure-time accidents, 1,650 heart attacks, 2,500 strokes and 1,050 cardiac arrests were recorded.
Kostja Steiner, head of anesthesia and intensive care at the Rohrbach Clinic, takes on the task “with respect for these big footsteps”. However, he can not only rely on the support of the Rohrbach Clinic and the Red Cross, but also on the communities that finance the emergency paramedics.
A special feature of the Rohrbach district was clearly emphasized during the handover: “We have by far the most trained paramedics in the country at the Red Cross local offices,” reported district rescue commander Johannes Raab and district office manager Wilbirg Mitterlehner, her character also vice president of the Upper Austrian Red Cross.
