Winter athletes died in an avalanche in Tyrol

The buried person was resuscitated after the rescue, but died shortly afterwards, according to the police and the Tyrol control center for the APA. According to the online edition of the “Kronen Zeitung”, the winter athlete died on the way to the hospital, but there was no confirmation of this for the time being.

Nothing was initially known about the exact circumstances of the avalanche and the identity of the victim. According to “Krone”, the dead man is said to have been a young freerider. As the executive also announced, another winter sportsman was buried, but he was rescued unharmed. Level 4 was widespread in Tyrol on Friday, i.e. there was a high risk of avalanches.
