The past weekend showed how broadly based the volleyball sport is in Perg. While the Bundesliga team scored a clear 3-0 win against table pursuers SU Inzingvolley on Saturday, the young players from the Landesliga made a more than good figure in the Harald Rößler Cup on Sunday and advanced to the final. The club colleagues from the Bundesliga were waiting there, of all people, who, according to the paper, won this encounter 3-0.

Despite the long journey to Zirl in Tyrol due to holiday traffic, the women from Perger quickly warmed up to operating temperature in the Bundesliga match against Inzingvolley on Saturday. Right from the first ball, the Mühlviertlerinnen showed that they would only start their return journey that evening with the full number of points. The ease of play, which had already led to success in the previous championship rounds, was evident again on Saturday. All the cornerstones of a successful volleyball game – powerful service, strong acceptance and powerful attacks – were implemented perfectly. And so coach Lydia Trauner’s team was able to celebrate a sovereign 3-0 win (25:21, 25:14, 25:22) after just 80 minutes.

On Sunday, the Mühlviertel Volleys not only took part twice, but also hosted this year’s final tournament for the Harald Rößler Cup. The pairings for the semi-finals were determined by drawing lots. ASKÖ Pichling played the first semi-final against Mühlviertel Volleys 2, in the second semi-final ASKÖ Sparkasse Pregarten faced the Bundesliga team Mühlviertel Volleys. Both Perger teams won their games 3:0 each and thus played the final against each other. Here the Bundesliga players made clear the cup victory with 3:0.
