The new SPÖ women’s team, led by Petra Hattenberger from Kirchberg, met for a retreat to plan for this year. From the action day for more appreciation of care work (March 1st) and distribution campaigns on International Women’s Day (March 8th) to initiatives to draw attention to income inequality or to stand up against violence against women, to the women’s breakfast with a lecture (May 13th), a women’s cinema (September 28th) and the punch stand with biscuit sales (December 2nd) there are a variety of events on the program.
The SPÖ women’s team consists of women from a wide variety of professions, different ages and with different types of life experience. District women’s chairwoman Petra Hattenberger would like to motivate more women to contribute their knowledge, life experience, skills and creativity to women’s politics. “Because the more women take on political functions and responsibilities, the better it is for all women and girls.”
