On yesterday’s deadline day of all days, Upper Austrian league autumn champion Askö Oedt made a real top transfer: Ex-Rapidler Philipp Schobesberger, who had only terminated his contract with second division soccer team Amstetten in January, switched to the leader of the top division in the state just a few hours before the end of the winter transfer time.

Oedt sports director Gerald Baumgartner also confirmed this to OÖN: “At first we couldn’t imagine that he wouldn’t find a club in the professional business. The transfer came about at short notice yesterday. Our President Franz Grad gave him the opportunity that he will stay with us.”

The 29-year-old is said to be training with the Traun team for the first time today. Most recently, the offensive player trained with Bundesliga club Altach after terminating his contract with second division club Amstetten. A transfer to the Vorarlbergers ultimately fell through.
