The accident happened after the man felled the approximately 25-meter-high oak tree and was busy pruning it. When he cut off a branch with his chainsaw, the trunk, which was about 60 centimeters thick, suddenly turned in his direction. The man fell and his leg was pinched between the trunk and an already cut branch, police said. He threatened to be crushed, but was able to call his partner in time. This called the rescue and alerted an acquaintance, who immediately rushed to the scene of the accident. He cut the 47-year-old free with a chainsaw. The man was injured so badly that he had to be given first aid by the emergency doctor and flown to the Braunau hospital by helicopter.
