Burgenland increases salaries for hospital doctors

This was announced by Governor Hans Peter Doskozil (SP) on Thursday at a press conference. According to this, specialists in the five Burgenland hospitals at the beginning of their career will in future have an annual gross salary of 140,000 euros instead of the current 115,000 euros, after ten years of service it will be 160,000 euros. By the end of his career, this sum should amount to 200,000 euros.

He is aware that there will be “discussions with other federal states,” said Doskozil, speaking of a “financial effort.” In order to ensure medical care, however, “an adequate salary for doctors” is needed.
